Job Summary:
In addition to managing client bookings and delivering first-rate customer service, the Sales and Reservation Officer is in charge of marketing and selling the company’s travel and tour packages. The position entails upholding client connections, making sure booking procedures go smoothly, and hitting sales goals in order to support the expansion of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Marketing:
- Identify new business opportunities and actively participate in marketing campaigns.
- Promote and sell travel packages, tours, and related services to individual and group clients.
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Reservations Management:
- Ensure all reservations are accurately processed and confirmed in a timely manner.
- Handle client inquiries and provide tailored travel solutions including itineraries, and air tickets.
- Manage and confirm bookings for accommodations, transportation, and other travel-related services.
- Coordinate with suppliers and partners to ensure smooth service delivery.
Customer Service:
- Follow up with client’s post-trip to gather feedback and build loyalty.
- Address customer questions, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally.
- Provide clients with travel advice, including itinerary planning, visa requirements, and travel insurance.
Administrative Tasks:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date records of bookings, payments, and sales activities. Prepare sales and reservation reports as required.
Team Collaboration:
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving services and achieving sales goals.
- Work closely with the marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging destinations.
- Provide recommendations for new travel products or service enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience in sales, reservations, or customer service, preferably within the travel and tourism industry.
- Familiarity with booking systems, travel platforms, and reservation tools is essential.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre is a strong advantage.
Sales and Customer Service Skills:
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, persuasive communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and resolve issues professionally.
Industry Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of travel and tourism products, including destinations, accommodations, and transportation.
- Awareness of visa requirements, travel regulations, and itinerary planning.
Personal Attributes:
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively. Team player with strong collaboration skills.
- Flexibility to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Language Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
