There are two campuses of the autonomous, private, non-profit International School of Tanganyika (IST) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Students in Grades 3 through 12 can participate in a variety of extracurricular activities at IST in addition to demanding academic programs. established in 1963 under the direction of Sir Andy Chande, who served as Treasurer and Secretary, and Dr. Michael Latham, who served as Chair. The fact that we were established prior to Tanganyika and Zanzibar’s unification to form Tanzania is reflected in our name, the International School of Tanganyika. Our goal is to help our students reach their full potential and make the world a better place by challenging, encouraging, and supporting them.
